for everyone
2 updates in less than a week – wow! Here is my progress as of 4/7/12 on Country Cottage Needlework – January Cottage.  The white is kind of iffy like we all thought it would be but . . . . The only other piece I have on hand big enough to do all 12 cottages is Waterlilly which is a horrible color for this pretty pastel project.  It needs to have a great dazzling, colorful fabric to match the cottages.  So I will have to live with the bright white (I switched it to B5200), because this fabric is PERFECT for this in every other way!  The white doesn’t look iffy in this picture because the sparkles aren’t showing up.  But in certain light, you see sparkle and not much of the white floss.

I  framed my piece I Love Stash Enhancement eXperiences and Chocolate.  The line chocolate was straight when I pinned it but wound up crooked after I laced it.  I actually like it crooked as it matches the quirkiness of the piece but I am not sure how long my perfectionism will let me not take it apart and fix it. LOL!

I have framed Just Nan Dew Drop in the frame that is meant for it.

Chele, if you had not said anything, I would have thought the ‘chocolate’ was supposed to be wavy like that, LOL. It just seemed to fit the piece that way! Great finishes and great framing!

I love the fabric and the white for the cottages. Just think of it as the snow falling and how sometimes you can see the flakes clearly and sometimes you can’t! 😉 Your two framed pieces look great! You’ve accomplished quite a bit since your last post. Congrats!

Chele – I LOVE the way Chocolate is framed – I think it looks BETTER this way than if it was straight. You have improved on the original! Go you!The Just Nan piece looks sooo adorable – I think I need to go read some grim horror story just to restore my inner balance 🙂

As you say we can’t really see how the snow washes out in the Cottages piece. As the rest of the project, all the actual cottages look fabulous does it matter? Would it be better to think of the snow as one of those subtle illusions, where you need to really get close and look at a piece before you say “oh yeah – look at that!” and get a warm fuzzy of discovery 🙂 Wouldn’t that be neat?
